Pizzomunno

Pizzomunno is the famous hero of Cristalda and Pizzomunno’s legend, the one who torn by grief because of the loss of his beloved, turned himself into a stone. According to the myth the two lovers, forced to live apart, can meet once every hundred years. As well as in the legend also in the Cummà Marì’ s residence the lovers stay together.

The giant white monolith is the symbol of the stone on which Vieste was built. Despite the impervious basement, life grows luxuriantly, manifesting itself in a rich flora where prickly pears and olive trees lord it. Hence the combination of colours chosen for this room, green and red garnet.
